Dave Bass is the quintessential artist. His talent is pure and terribly entertaining...." "Dave Bass is jazz music's most extraordinary secret. "Listening to him, I hear an exuberant lover, a wise old pal, a lonely figure on a park bench.
"The hardest working man in the jazz business." "This group of authentic jazz musicians can do it all. "To their credit, the quartet emphasizes sets consisting of mostly obscure tunes written by jazz musicians; "Very few ensembles capture the energy of a big band... Dave Bass does it." |

The Quartet was in high-demand, performing 200+ dates per year throughout the Southeast, between private functions, weddings, clubs and festivals. During this time, Dave also managed the music stage for The Virginia-Highlands Summerfest ('96-'99), booked talent for clubs and installed sound systems and sound conditioning in a number of venues. In 2008, Dave moved to Los Angeles and became deeply immersed in the art of Studio Recording. He apprenticed under some of the finest engineers including Andy Zane of Sound City (Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses); John Rhys of Hollywood Sound Recorders (The Wrecking Crew, Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, Pat Benetar, Eddie Harris, Joe Sample) and Matt Forger of Westlake Studios (Michael Jackson).
